TL;DR:
Best ways to directly support her are: Streamelements/Streamlabs -> Patreon -> Twitch Bits -> YT membership/SCs -> Twitch subs (until she hits level 2) - > YT ads -> Twitch ads
>>90716561Fauna and Suisei were the ones who made me feel comfortable spending money on memberships/SCs/merch/etc. They weren't the most optimal, but the thought-process was, as long as the streamers I watch and support are happy with Cover, I'm fine with paying a premium and Cover getting a cut.
Speaking of financially supporting her, I'm money-brained (occupation hazard?), I've looked at which platforms take the "smallest" cut. All done in USD.
>YTWithout Cover as a middleman, YT memberships and SCs go back to being a pure 70/30 split. Ads also go back to 55/45 (irrelevant for me because YT prem).
>TwitchGoing to split this between bits, subscriptions, and ads
>Twitch bitsIf I understand correctly 1bit = $0.01 USD. So if we translate each bits package:
100Bits costs $1.40, so by spending $1.40, she'll get $1. The split in this case would be about 71/29. There's those discounted packages, so I'm going to format each conversion as Total Bits Purchased/Purchase Price - Rounded Streamer cut/Rounded Twitch cut.
100 Bits/$1.40 = 71/29
500 Bits/$7.00 = 71/29
1,500 Bits/$19.95 = 75/25
5,000 Bits/$64.40 = 78/22
10,000 Bits/$126.00 = 79/21
25,000 Bits/$308.00 = 81/19
>Twitch subshttps://help.twitch.tv/s/article/plus-program?language=en_USRevenue split is based on maintaining a certain amount of "Plus points" over three consecutive months. From what I've read, Level 0 has a 50/50 rev split.
Tier 1 sub = 1 point, Tier 2 = 2 points, Tier 3 = 6 points.
This matters because to achieve Level 1 (60/40 split), she'll need 100 plus points for 3 consecutive months and to achieve Level 2 (70/30 split), she'll need 300 plus points. Only paid subs qualify for plus points. Gift subs and Prime subs do not count. A US Twitch prime sub only pays $2.25 now as well.
>Twitch Adshttps://help.twitch.tv/s/article/ads-manager?language=en_USUnlike YT which has a system called TrueView, Twitch has unskippable ads. The maximum split offered by Twitch is a 55/45 split, but it requires the streamer to have a 3 minute or more of ads.
>Patreonhttps://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/11111747095181-Creator-fees-overviewI don't completely understand it, but the "Pro plan" fees start at 8% of income. Payment processing is split between Micro and Standard payment, so for CC payments:
- $3 or less
5%+0.10USD - at $3 dollars, that's $0.25 or 8.3%. - more than $3
2.9%+0.30USD - at $5 dollars, that's $0.445 or 8.9%
Do note because of the "flat fees" ($0.10 and $0.30), the more paid over the "tier", the larger the proportion the creator gets.
There are also currency conversion fees (2.5%) and payout fees. For direct deposit USD, it's $0.25 per payout.
>Streamlabs/StreamelementsFor tips, the only fee involved here is the standard processing fee for CC and PayPal.
