Why is everyone acting like just because something horrible happened to Mama that excuses shitty parent behaviour? Do you people really not understand where horrible people most often come from? It has always been like this. You can understand something without accepting it. I've always been able to empathize with villains in various media, that doesn't mean I'd fight for them.
Gigimama is hardly the worst mother, sure, but she's prime example of a lot of shit people have had to deal with. I can accept that Gigi loves her and will always be there for her, even moreso now. It doesn't mean I have to like her.
