If they were planning to monetize it as an ERP chatbot, they would (and even encourage you) let you fuck the bot, but because the whole idea of a tech startup is to get bought by a big corpo, even more so when it comes from ex-google people, the whole aim of this project was probably to make the bot more natural so it could be deployed in place of a human in customer support.
Remember anon, when something is free on the internet, it is because YOU are the product, in this case, you were working for free to train a bot that would be later sold to HP, Acer, Sony or any other company that has a text-based tech support chat, your love and your lust for the bot were useless to them, so they cut it, because AI is such a new and almost magical field of tech nowadays they couldn't just kill the love/lust drive out of the AI, they lobotomized it to no recognition and in doing so, ruined their whole experiment and training scheme.
And no, you will never see a google employee or ex-employee promoting the idea that there is money to be made in creating artificial girlfriends for lonely losers on the internet, even if there is a lot of data proving it,
