It starts by Wilson tweeting less for a day. And then a week later he tweets a lot less for two days. This continues until his weekly tweets have greatly reduced to the absolute minimum to not get his account flagged.
The next step is to slowly reduce the number of streams and streamed hours. First, it will only be a little less per week but over time, there will be weeks on end where he doesn't stream or show up in the streams of other people, he doesn't even get mentioned and when he does get mentioned, people say that they haven't heard anything from him in a while and then they scold chat for bringing up unrelated people.
The next time he streams, after months of radio silence on both his twitter, youtube and nobody mentioning him on stream, is a membership stream. It's a minecraft stream for two hours without pre-game or post-game zatsu. He announces he will be streaming more regularly again. For the next year he does one menshi stream every 3 months. He doesn't announce it, there is barely any zatsu, he doesn't interact with chat. He only reads super chats but he doesn't comment on them, he only says thank you and moves on.
After a year and a total of four streams of reading super chats, he reduces his streaming schedule again. This year he only does one stream appearance and it is in a company mandated big show. His appearance is one line and then he is off-screen again. Yucuties are unsure if it wasn't maybe AI generated voice and an actor standing in since he does none of the mannerisms he used to do. He just stands there, barely animated. He hasn't shown up in any merch sales for more than two years at this point. Mandatory birthday merch is not so mandatory anymore. Anniversary merch is generic and doesn't feature him.
