>>36416905their mercenaries won't work with our mercenaries. our mercenaries don't represent our government, even if they represent us in general terms. idk if it matters what level of interaction we have with /morig/ as long as they know we are from /meat/. we could use our reputation to infiltrate them, but they probably have countermeasures against that if we haven't been able to do it already.
their allies probably don't, though, and through their allies, we can influence them. all we need is to get a few influential covert /meat/ sympathizers through to their culture, we don't even need to be the ones to do it. we have a fair amount of global clout, at least compared to how unpopular you would think we would be based off of our description. i don't know if any direct effort to sway /morig/ is going to work, though. as with meme magic, things have to feel organic and unintended to get past their defenses.
what does /vtwbg/ represent in this setting again? mostly an unimportant "pass-by" country, right? but i figure this thread is relatively well versed on the cultures of the rest of the world, even if "they/we" don't represent the rest of the world as perfectly as they represent themselves. they couldn't do that without at least some contact with other parts of the world, and other parts of the world could stand to pay attention to /vtwbg/ if they get interested in other cultures. show them a rose-tinted vision of their own culture, and they'll be more excited to see cultures of the rest of the world. /vtwbg/ knows enough about the good interesting, romanticized aspects of each culture, and can make others interested in each other's cultures, that they might be a good place to get people to go to if you want to make diplomacy between nations more likely.
if this is an accurate representation, then the fact that /meat/ has some influence there already could 1) improve our reputation/strengthen our influence over the general world's population in some regards, and 2) make it possible for us to covertly set up key alliances and negotiations between any two nations we think could give us an opening into other cultures that aren't as susceptible to our own machinations. ie, we can infiltrate enemy cultures by proxy of cultures that are easier to infiltrate, almost like hacking a wireless thermostat connected to the cloud to gain access to a main-frame computer through the "back door" so to speak. from there, all we need is to get our sympathizers talking, and they'll be buying our blue jeans, and listening to our pop music in no time. what do you think?of course, /vtwbg/ is just an example, we could use any nation with good connections, i just like this idea better.
