Nimi used Omonah, one of the biggest known VTuber merch manufacturer / supplier in the US. And yet that "one of the biggest" still wasn't prepared for orders at that magnitude. They were only prepared for 500 units and Nimi got thousands of orders - most of which had to be put in pre-orders and to date, Omonah is still processing through them at the speed of a snail. I can't say anything about quality yet until I get them on my hand, but at least, they "couldn't yet produce these goods at the same volume", as the other guy said.
It's fine for most indies since they only need hundreds items per merch wave at best, usually dozens, but Holo members and ex-Holo move several thousands units each per wave of merch frequently. That's not what current American manufacturers are ready for yet
(Not to mention that as some other anon pointed out in another thread, Ohmonah merch wasn't made in America either, they were made in another country - if not China, then Vietnam or India or something similar)
