It was considered unthinkable for socially accepted Americans to say things like "oh my god" "damn it" when christianity was more of the norm in the western world decades ago. That’s exactly what Mark Twain noted when he came to Germany in the 19th century and was baffled how well-raised German women could say these phrases in German without feeling like they sin.
The point is America really was founded by a fanatical sect of Christians, and even with Christianity lessening in the west more and more that sentiment prevails. It’s the reason why it’s unthinkable to air any amount of female nipples anywhere in America but violence and gore is totally fine. Or how the Roman statues mimicked in Las Vegas in Caesars palace are all covering their private parts when the point of these were to not shy away from the human body in the first place, thereby completely missing the point.
Similarly, they are completely mindbroken over Age of consent laws, thinking an age of consent under 18 (even though it literally is under 18 in most US states) means that it’s essentially A-okay for adults to rape their teens after that age, complete nonsense of course but that’s how they think like.
