It's really stupid when there's literally a weapon in the game that lets you farm Red Orbs. It's like a big "fuck you" to the higher-ups who wanted to add those micro-transactions in.
Also, I'm not quoting the grifter in this thread but the game does have alternate skins for Lady, Trish, and even Nico.
You can unlock them just by beating the game on the harder difficulties, but they serve no purpose outside of cutscenes because they never got to be playable. (Based on the datamine, they would have had a mini-story called Ladies Night) Capcom pulled the plug on any additional updates after Battle Palace was added in. Vergil was then relegated for a re-release on next-gen consoles.
