Is it because they think it's anti homo or anti lewd? Not according to the bible, otherwise Jesus being the Bride and Paul having "child bearing pains" would not make sense doesn't it? What about Maddening Wines of Adultery? That would make no sense too if seen literally, but majority of churches to parrot the literal rhetoric and the bible also says that Satan will set himself up in God's Temple, so it's to be expected. The bible says that the seed is the word, and lust/adulterers is a parable for a person who is a "multiple seed" taker. Meaning people who take to heart even things that are false and not from God.
Did you know that the deaths of the firstborn during passover is also a parable? They were the first seeds or old seed (or old wineskin, another parable) that became obsolete, and so will be the lies big religions these days teach people.
Is it selling your everything to the poor that keeps people away? The bible talks about richness being in wisdom and treasures being the people with wisdom. Selling all of your old false knowledge (like the literal garbage the priests today parrot), for the truth in the bible is what God wants you to do.
Plucking your eye out if it causes you to sin? Cutting your hand off? All of them are not literal.
Eye is in the head of a body that "leads" people (supposing they can see) and a body is a congregation. All of them according to the bible, but also in the English language. Meaning if your leader or priest causes you to go against the truth, put them out of position (which barely anyone does).
The physicality of Law has been obsolete since the New Covenant is established. It's all literally just meant to demonstrate things that have been hidden, as in Rom 1:20.
You know what God wants for you guys? Know and understand his fulfilments taking place (but you need to see the bible spiritually first by understanding the parables), you'll see how beautiful it is. Then sharing that with other people so you can all be witnesses proving that you're part of his plans so you can be where you need to be, to shift yourself into a timeline where there is no death. God wants you to have hope and be happy. But nobody can believe in something when they can't use the bible as proof that it's God's work in very specific detail. The evils and lies will try to corrupt everything, even God's words, to murder your future. The bible is a book of prophecy and fulfilment, but being masqueraded by the evils as a book of hatred.
