-It creates a narrative that Clara and the activists are actually the victims (and potentially lost)
once the narrative started circling around management doing this to balance the scales, Clara went and said "oh btw I was graduating anyway this was decided in November". Thus reassuring the activists that they won. Sakana settles things behind the scenes, Jelly feels compelled to make a statement because she feels bad other girls got caught in the crossfire and with Sakana's apology this creates an illusion that justice has been met.
In reality she was being manipulated into feeling responsible for something that was never bad in the first place.
