Think of it like this, it's "easier" to ride a bike with training wheels, but training wheels severely limit what you can do with your bike. If you don't know how to ride a bike and all that's asked of you is go in a straight line then training wheels sure help, but if you're asked to do tricks with your bike then the training wheels just get in the way so it's better to learn how to ride without them.
