>>39396834I haven't tried it with any samplers that introduce noise - so DDIM, any of the Karras ones, anything with ancestral in the name, etc. I think. It's all been on DPM++ 2M. I just picked alternate steps and horizontal/vertical together. Didn't touch anything else.
and I'm using the schizo negativewhen I kept "Upscale latent space image when doing hires. fix" disabled, it did this for 1/4 images -
>>39341057speaking of - the image you're replying to is a composite of with it enabled, with it disabled, and with it disabled and "oops I forgot the vae" blended in for the one part it looked cool
the skull on the top, kek. disabling the latent space upscale didn't negatively affect any of the gens beyond the one where she ended up with 4 tits, and a new one, also only 1 out of 4, where she has 3 hands
and didn't before hires fixgood shit.ckpt 28fb1136
>>39343084longtime webui users - what are the mechanics of hi-res fix? TL;DR I have NO idea what hi-res fix does exactly, but I want to know if it's doing something that COULD be manually replicated step-wise in webui so that 1. I can change part of the proompt in between the gen and the upscale step, 2. so I can turn latent mirror ON during the gen, and then OFF during the upscale..., 3. to avoid repeating a 10-20 min 512x768 gen just to upscale...
for example, if I click "enhance" on novel ai directly, all it's doing is loading the image up for an img2img gen, applying my denoising setting
=strength, and the second "noise" setting that I guess ultimately fucks with ENSD as a whole for the upscale!, and sticking me with whatever was in the proompt when the lower res image was generated.
I've gotten "in between it" by manually loading the previous image as img2img, setting the newer 1.5x res, and then changing what's in the prompt, or the negative prompt, the sampler, the steps, inpainting a little, anything. can be neat for messing with different styles or shading or stuff on only "half" of the gen, or to fix something with inpainting "before upscaling" and having that same img2img pass that upscales it also clean it up.
