It turns out there wasn't a rogue Vshojo staff member, but Nimi didn't know that when she dropped the lld. That one whore sounded the alarm and Nimi had to choose between believing it and trying to stem the tide by per-emptively telling everyone she is married or ignore it and take the chance that there is a rogue doxxer who had dirt on her.

She likely would have dropped the lld regardless when the kid is born because its alot harder to hide a kid than a husband. The Vshojo scare just accelerated her timetable.

Because /lig/ was a somewhat insular community born of Twitch vtubers that used to have a certain degree of separation with Vshojo. Certain degree means not too close but also not too far. There's some later interactions with /wvt/ that muddy that history a lot.
There's also an oversupply of vtubers these days. That means there's basic human dynamics at play. It's pretty much a schizo or a group of schizos that force a new vtuber into discussion if it's not a vtuber in existing /lig/ circles.
