It's one thing if you somehow maintained perfect, obvious kayfabe the whole time, but the instant you share a real life story obviously no one is going to consider you that way. You don't get to say "it's just a character" when it's clear your audience doesn't treat it as such.
Fundamentally this is no different from a streamer who typically sits in a wheelchair getting caught on camera walking. "Uhhh yeah, this image I portray is just my stream persona, like Dr Disrespect you know. Everyone knows every streamer plays a character on camera, so most people are sane and just play along. It's your fault if you thought I was really paralyzed."
