>>100205798Trying to be as fair as possible here, anything pre 2025 is at best a wash thanks to the artist completely ghosting the client for 3 months pre contract despite repeated attempts to get in contact with no even acknowledgement on the artist part, including a final warning they'd have to go with someone else unless they at least responded within a deadline, which they didn't and went about their buisness happily assuming it was work they fucked up the chance to get.
2025 we have the messages they are claiming, and timesheets they submitted for 8hour day, 5 day weeks starting on the 13th of jan. The time doesn't add up at all, and an objective read of the messages shows a slow to respond client but where at least 95% of the fault lies with the artist.
They wanted you to give them a quote, you repeatedly lied to them about what your labour costs and therefore the range of any finalised agreement you were willing to agree would be from the 13th to 26th of january. During this period you asked for and were told the clients budget, which fit your earlier quotes but it was made clear they weren't up for going much higher than. When finally providing a updated quote, you provided a 'cheaper' labour cost option which was still 1200$ more than the budget and 2.2k than your previous quote, which you also then revoked as it was a lie, meaning the only point you had given the client a correct view of how much money the cost would be that you would accept was late 29th of jan, when you withdrew the 8800 quote leaving only a 11,100 quote.
The client the promptly gets back to you and makes clear their uncomfortable as this is vastly over the budget they told you but are willing to try and negotiate, but understand if you would prefer to take your services elsewhere.
You then claim you are ALREADY discounting it from 16k.
Then turn around and demand 5k for the completely unapproved 'work' done up to this point, submitting a timesheet claiming you were owed for 8hr day, 5 day weeks from the 13th to 30th at £32/hr despite never informing the client nor seeking approval to get this, and spending this time primarily wasting the clients time by repeatedly lying to them about how much it would cost to commission this product from you, and when the true cost was put to the client on late 29th, they promptly tried to negotiate but were clearly not into it.
I have zero symapthy for any of the artists demands quite frankly. At best they should be paid for the mock up from last year, but you dont get to charge without informing the client for 'communication and quote' services which consist of you lying to them for weeks.
