It's literally impossible. They can roleplay a lot but in the end if you are yapping for 4 to 8 hours every other day you will start to bleed in personal experience.
Source: I worked on a theme park, and when someone started playing a character too much they start to mutate into something unique. It's the reason why Disney rotates the actors a lot.

It would take somebody with extreme dedication and just the right amount of menhera to pull it off.
They'd also have to remain entertaining while finding new ways to maintain popularity that doesn't require Vidya alone.
It's far from impossible but the unlikelihood of finding that blessed autist is beyond calculation.

However Kayfabe doesn't have to be the character alone but how willing you are to buy into that character.

Arguably those were common a few years ago. During the first months of myth there was more effort to always stay in character. Yes, the stories likely originated from their private life but they were adapted to keep the immersion.
Would you really prefer it if they were to completely make up stories that never happened?
There is a difference between continuously playing a character and the deliberate acting for limited roleplay streams.

Sadly that is the truth. I can't understand why the whole western world can't produce a single decent character vtuber. It is like they are missing a kind of spark that only the Japanese have. Sometimes you see hints of it in certain vtubers but most of the time they get direction from Japanese managers or partially grew up in Japan.

When Live 2D is no longer a thing for starters. Nobody is going to buy into the prospect of the streamer being some alien, artificial intelligence or magical being when they cant move so why bother.
I also agree with someone else when they say livestreams should be kept at a minimum, like once a week, and most content should be pre-recorded. If you need to fill dead air for 12 hours a week eventually it will become exhausting to stay in character.

Most of the EN talents do character acting or do you really think they are exactly like their characters? Hololive does reward sleazy coombait and being unicorn friendly so most of them do that stuff in their early years. What fans complain about is when they move away from that stuff but after several years they have less reason to keep up the role of an anime waifu.
