True idols are people that got to the peak of their field.
Awesome singers, masters in their craft, top tier basketball players... people tattoo their faces on their body and that's socially acceptable.
Then we have the japanese that invented this idol thing just to sell plastic sticks, shirts and mass produced pop-music cds, obviously preying on the lonely japanese. I can't say that "idols" are a healthy hobby
