They aren't trying to cancel the entire subject, we are here talking after all. But they clearly are limiting it to not be some big forced fake controversy, I am guessing in no small part because you basically can't talk about this without going full /pol/. I saw them actually move some kirsche thread to /pol/ the other week, like the actual transplant function with a mod post. They don't want this board to be a /pol/ colony, or rather they are trying to stop it from becoming more of one.
