It may be a convenient lie, but ultimately aligning yourself along a political issue betrays you as finding politics above all. The more transgender people which exist directly benefits their political worldview, appearing as virtuous through donating to charity benefits their political worldview and the incentive for the fact of maintaining such a charity also benefits their worldview. I.e. "There are so many evil right wing parents kicking out their defenceless transgender children that we had to set up an entire charity around it."
Me donating to turtles doesn't have a greater political incentive for me to do so. Also, I could live in an area where turtles are frequent and I have an incentive to act within my local community for a local issue. Transgender children is not acting within my local community, why don't these people act within their local community unless they wish to claim there are no children worth assisting in their local community (a complete lie)?
It's a purely political incentive, not a moral one.
