The thing a lot of content creators do not seem to understand is if you change your market, the old market has zero reason to stick around if they do not like the new content.
You are not OWED subscribers, you are not owed support, people want to support you if they like the content you create. That content vanishes, good chance they do as well.
If that makes you sad, well, be sad, fix it or watch more people leave. Being sad fixes nothing, fixing things fixes things. Make shit, do shit, do something, otherwise you will only see the back of them.
This doesn't apply to everyone, the framework that "content" covers is very fucking wide. Many people have different reasons for supporting someone, some like their humor, some like them, some want to date them, some like the streams or topics they bring up, some like their voice, and so on.
Some people really don't know how good they have it until they lose it. By the time they do they are already stuck in a hole they barely manage to get out before losing the majority of their communities. Sadly I've seen this more times than I would like.
