>>100975018>The whole termination was handled so unprofessionally, that if it was another small corpo, I'd just think they're incompetent but with idol I'm almost certain it was intentionally done like that to hurt herI have a hard time believing it was done to intentionally harm considering in the same notice they flat out admitted that one of their highest staff members was fucking around with the girls.
It reeks of incompetence after people were mad about the secrecy of the other termination. Pochi was it?
Everything I've seen from Idol seems like a guy who seriously wanted to do the "right thing" by making a corpo that focuses entirely on supporting the talents, only for the money to dry up and some of the talents to go even further to attempt to breach their contract secretly. (Running off with donothon money, attempting to set up secret fan meetings directly in exchange for gifts, whatever the fuck that ghost girl was doing)
Of course Idol played its own part. When one of your highest staff positions is being used to start secret trysts with the girls, then that's just a horrific breach of power. But I think it was originally done with good intentions. They really didn't need to give such a generous split to the talents when everyone else gives pennies back per dollar. They didn't need to publicise their contract. They didn't even need to allow the talents to "buy" their own IP for such a relatively small price. (A small cut for just a year? That's basically nothing compared to what the girls like PixelLink were asked to pay.)
It sounds like an idealistic idiot had no fucking clue what he was in for, only for it to collapse and run out of money. Hell, I can't believe the ghost chick was allowed to graduate instead of being terminated for the nonsense she pulled with the /k/ groomers.
