The joke is just that the punchline has already been delivered (the Zoo pun and the reveal that he's talking to severed heads), you even get the outro, and then it comes back in with him clarifying a minor detail, adding one last bit of absurdity. But maybe I'm just as dumb as the heckin' females and am missing the secret joke of Soldier.
