Nobody gripes when people pay a band either to buy an album or as thanks for stuff they put up for free, and that doesn't change whether they're making more than you or less than you. Though many entertainers of all types will tell you not to spend money you can't afford on them.
Same deal when you pay a vtuber, you're either buying paid content or sending a thank-you for free content.
