>>101482852I didn't attend the last year even though I was able to because the situation with the venue and etc. was getting pretty bad from what people said and it was probably for the best given what happened. The venue change worked this year and I think a lot of things improved. As expected, the venue had good infrastructure from hosting tech events in the area so wifi was good and all the Vtuber robots were working without getting cut out. Everyone also had space, so no dumb shit like needing to hold convention in the corner near the parking lot at the doors. No real incidents happened either with drama and stuff.
However, the one thing that didn't improve definitely was staffing and it managed to seem to be even worse than last year because of them not growing the volunteer base enough and not accounting enough for flakers and noshows and spreading them even thinner over a wider area. In the ending ceremony they didn't stream, they mentioned 5.8k people attended the con which was a 2x increase in size.
I think they don't need to do much to improve the in-person experience now but they desperately need some tech people, the streaming situation for people who want to see stuff online is pretty bad.
