Watsuki was / is a very successful, popular, respected and well connected (in both entertainment and political scene) artist. Several big mangaka were his assistant (the most prolific one being Oda). The guy was basically one of those "teacher of teacher".
Gaou is nothing compared to Watsuki. A lot less popular, way less successful and no way anywhere nearly as well connected. At best he will follow the Act-Age author path (author of an extremely popular rising manga who ruined his career because he decided to grope a few JK while biking)
