Yeah a while ago I got a message from goodsmile that all future orders will have to pay extra for shipping, and that they'd tell me in advance if any past orders would have their prices changed, which would give me the option to cancel within a short period.
I mostly buy fan merch now. Individual artist merch usually ends up being reasonable for shipping, and anyone domestic will probably cost slightly more than they used to, but it's better than buying from overseas.

I sent my recent preorder to a middleman, hoping it works out. Even if I do get hit by orange tax it’ll still be less than paying sales tax + tariffs straight from the online store.
