it's just late Gura 2.0 with indie model people already know her that's why they've subbed in the first place but she does nothing to keep the hype going there is no drama to milk, she acts pretty much the same as her corpo persona, she's not sharing any juicy bts info and will likely take a month long break sooner rather than later.

I assume for most cases it's because they want to continue their vtubing careers but haven't been making content on their former PL accounts, so things just stagnated.
Some talents do come back to their PL accounts, Mumei and Sana come to mind, but the reason is pretty evident.
