Problem is the US government views centralisation of internet services in US corporate hands as a huge power play. So they throw money and legal immunity at these companies like its going out of style.

This is why Youtube never needed to make money on its rise to power.
Same for Google and Facebook. It's also why their competitors have a habit of people dying or being arrested if they don't accept a buyout.

Considering it's YouTube and Cover that ultimately runs the show of Hololive, I'm pretty sure they can't due to prior legal agreements that nobody outside of management and legal know about. YouTube punishes creators who cross-stream or upload on other websites by denying them some of their juciest advertisers and partner programs. I remember Chris from Oneyplays being asked why he streams on Twitch and doesn't archive all his uploads like he soes on YouTube and his response was a joking "cause Susan wouldn't like that" and left it at that.

Yeah, but they don't archive anything it seems and it could be for special events such as charity. I know charity is one excemption for YouTube when it comes to certain rules, but this is just from a PR perspective.
