>>102577331They're the only big group that has gotten male vtubers to a functional point and proceed to monopolize they shit out of it.
The girls are literally just holos, it's the same kind of humor, the same kind of personalities, most of the holos and female Nijis come from the same online friend groups, collabs is where shit falls apart. But as far as solo streams go there's no difference between what you can expect from a solo holo stream and a female niji solo stream.
Now a days the Holos are a little more polished, mainly because being in Holo means that you're popular and the amount of support behind you as well as the expectations as massive, while, some nijis, mostly the older ones, are genuine literal who tier, so they just rawdog it; which can be part of the appeal if you like streaming to be a little more simple and "genuine", but aside from that it's the same stuff. It's simply that one lucked out with girls and became THE girls company while the other lucked out with boys (mostly due to the fact that they were savvy and hired men who were already successful and simply whipped them a little so they better fit a corporate environment) and became know as THE boy company that also has some bangers on the girl side here and there
Really thinking that there's some fundamental difference between a Holo and female Nijis is flawed when excluding some true outsiders like Noel or Salome, everyone was palling around the same water coolers. Nui didn't want to dance so she leaned towards Niji, Suisei would have taken anyone who gave the chance, Luna WAS a Niji. Only until DEV_IS did Cover start taking different hiring approaches compared to Niji AND EVEN THEN THEY STILL ENDED UP WITH SU AND CHIHAYA
If you want to know why the girlies like the Niji men, they're men, they're popular, it's easier to follow them because of such, the observation has already been made on JP twitter a million times, but girls value the sense of community withing otaku circles far more than men do, women congregate around bigger groups because of the sense of belonging and safety it brings, while men are more likely to not care and just roll with smaller more niche interests. the Niji men are also pretty competent at what they do, they're pretty, or at least their models are, they're decent enough at chatting and they seem to actually know what people watch them for unlike the homos who change their branding twice a year trying to chace trends. Niji does actually stick to the "this guy is X otome game architype, and this guy is X" and such, they have the soft boy, the snarky one that's actually pretty caring, the pupppy boy, the cold one, the rough one. And even if they're all obviously relative nerdy the fact that they actually got a sizable female fanbase encouraged them to keep up the roleplay, unlike the homos who pretty much never followed the archetypes they were supposed to be because no one ever cared about them, so now they're all "internet douchebag #5118114"
They were the first ones to capitalize on chubas properly, therefore they got popular, women prefer getting into what's popular because to an extend more than liking the guy, they like being around other girls who also like the guy, and the loop will keep going until someone else debuts a mega popular male group
