In sally's case I can see her defending the friendship with a "don't worry honey. Think about the money we're getting from her. I'm the sole beneficiary of her will. Just let her be". So Sally's husband shuts up. But Fauna's partner? She makes as much money as Kronni if not more. For him it makes no sense to have that walking red flag as a friend outside work related things. So he puts his feet down and tells Fauna that the dyke has to go. And Fauna follows, because her partner's opinion is important to her.
It makes to much sense.
