Like if you are an indie and oshispark bankrupts itself over 3 or 4 years doing concerts for you what did you lose?
3 or 4 years is a long time in vtubing, and is probably more than enough time for another sucker to try going for vc money and be profitable and as an indie you can just coop that again and profit from them burning vc cash
Again im not saying that that is a good business model, it is terrible and obviously won't work long term, but who cares?
It is pretty amazing for the vtubers that can take advantage of that (because they are popular independently of the org spending cash and whether it lives or dies is irrelevant to them)
Like if ironmouse didnt get a years wage stolen from her do you think going in vshojo was a bad deal for her? She even gets free number boost from the fallout drama
