Phase connect has nothing to do with politics, stop getting your news from the catalog.

Pippa stopped being an edgy chud years ago, now the only "based" is Jelly but most she does is hate on women for being whores because she is from a conservative country.

All the others are just regular streamers each one with it's own appeal, just like any vtubing company. Some are focused on music, some only play games. Sometimes they have mini concerts in 3d during conventions, sometimes we have company wide collabs. etc etc

The only unifying trait I guess would be that girls are asked to not be whores live, no one there will talk about hookups or doing drugs, but it's not a family friendly company either.

If you've watched any EN corpo Phase is just more of that but they're now the biggest one (Holo/Niji are both JP corpos even in the EN branches, don't pretend they're not). The only corpo with an English speaking presence that is better from a talent perspective is Holo and that's solely because the size difference between Holo and everyone else overrides any other consideration. Remove the money/fame difference and no one would pick working at Holo over Phase.
Despite what everyone ITT claims, there is no #based #redpilled girl in Phase. The talents are mostly left leaning but you wouldn't know that without reading through doxed personal accounts since almost all of them keep their political views off stream

It's far easier to get merch deals and for artists to deal with you if you are with a corpo.This was one of Marimari_en's reasons for joining.
You also get access to managers who are good at their jobs.
A lot of vtubers do not get into vtubing to make it their 'main' source of income, many just do it because it's a fun thing to do on the side. Vtubing is not a feasible source of 'main income' for anyone who isn't big in Hololive or Niji, or managed to make it as an indie.

You can just say Holo, there isn't any other corpo where the EN girls as a whole aren't working second jobs or making poverty money. VShojo was the only other one and that's because they took a 0% cut of stream revenue and only hired 4 view indies who were already living off their stream revenue before joining

Have you actually listened to any of those indies talk about the merch process? Even for those basic things it's a complete shitshow filled with countless tales of scams, getting ghosted and having to dedicate all of your time to make things happen. Most of them only do merch once or twice over multiple years because unless you can offload all of that work onto an unemployed boyfriend or you're already among the top 0.001% of vtubers it's not worth it
Phase gives a vtuber at least 1 minimum solo merch run for their birthday plus 4 minimum group merch runs every year from Christmas, gen anniversary, company anniversary and Valentine's. Then you get additional group merch runs for any events they take part in like Phase Summer, Phase Wars, Phase Showdown or the new idol project stuff they started doing and the extra individual merch runs for subscriber milestone celebrations, new outfit merch & album releases
Also Phase does all kinds of merch, yes the bulk of it is the easy stuff like t-shirts, acrylics, stickers, coffee mugs, pins, daki covers & plushies but they've also done the less common things like hoodies, shot glasses, whiskey glasses, camping mugs, hats, physical CDs, drink bottles, phone cases & keycaps then there's the things practically no indie is doing like bags, playing cards, lighters, scented candles, stationary, scarves, pyjamas, eye masks, cushions, blankets, hourglasses, tins, books & stationary. Also the coffee apparently sells a lot better than it rightly should. Merch is definitely a selling point for joining a corpo if that's something you want to have regularly

I somehow expected all the girls to average around or close to 1k, or at least over 500.
So what I'm getting from this thread is that Phase does not pay well, does not boost viewership, does not really do much merch, does not do any significant events, or do anything really, and somehow the most talked about member is sakana instead of any of the girls.

even if you buy your own 3d model, that doesn't mean they are gonna use you in concerts either. it has to be earned.

shiina earned hers years ago, but she likely turned down concerts because she has talked up a huge game about being a dancer and we know she can't dance so she will get exposed, and her ego wont allow that

If anything they do too much, the company can barely go a couple of weeks without pumping out another batch of cheap plastic that takes over a year to actually ship out. The whole thing is unironically more like a merch company that has vtubers than a vtuber company that has merch.

Hime hit 100k 7 months ago and the latest Phase 3D concert was in June, so unless they made a deliberate decision to exclude her from it then it's pretty clear that it wasn't ready or even being worked on by that time, and unlikely that any others are either.

That is how it has survived for so long. If you don't need to spend money and try and rake in as much as possible with merch and etc, you have positive cashflow and a business. That being said, Sakana still needs to get raked over the coals for shipping delays. Imagine getting anniversary merch right by the time the next anniversary rolls around. They are doing the worst out of any of the bigger sized corpos on this front right now despite the challenges with it in Vtubing.

Lia's 3D were sitting there unused for a while and she was intentionally left out of the Tenma Pippa concert at Offkai last year and Uruka jumped the line ahead of her to do a Tubeout concert (this was before Uruka started becoming a shorts stream merchant she got 3D at like 70,000 subs; but I understand it because in Sakana's mind of the 4 3D models Phase had, he thought Uruka was the only one who could perform he had yet to see that Lia can ball out).

To be fair to him, he didn't know. I think he thought what made an idol was just singing, and Uruka is the only english Origins member that can sing so of course you would pick her for a certain spot.
They only people that knew Lia could dance was her viewers because she has always talked about wanting to dance in 3D and put me in coach.
She had a crashout in June of last year when her 3 genmates got 3D and not her which put her in a shitty spot because she wants to be proud of genmates but also it's like what the fuck bro? at that time she cleared the alleged number threshhold and she knows she can dance but isn't being given the opportunity to show it. But she weathered the storm and got her chance to shine, and did.

Phase absolutely does not support its lowest performing talents as well as you're making out. Merch aside most of them arguably get fewer opportunities than indies at a similar level do just because those indies are able to proactively seek out those opportunities themselves instead of having to wait for a company to remember that they exist.
