>>10399040It's smart business and coming from someone who just binged all of Oshi no Ko it's now fresh in my head how the entertainment industry is scummy and all about favors and behind the scenes arrangement. Specifically Holo in being idol-ish/idol-like in some ways rings a bit of a bell there.
However it's definitely unfair to the thousands of well-qualified apps who may feel like they got garbage binned if like 2 or 3 or even more of the slots were already spoken for when they opened auditions. Work just goes like that, a lot of positions are hired from within the company and they only by obligatory OSHA laws (least in the US) have to put up a pretend listing for it as an opening and let people apply even if they have someone tapped already. It's just way easier to move people around internally especially if people are on contracts and say if a new hire turns out bad the paperwork/review cycles to get rid of them legally would be like 6 months or more, so they just bring in people they already have if they can.
The thing is, EN1 probably was mostly not really internal connections so much as shrewd scouting/poring over apps. Ina and AO/Enma being so close kind of makes you think that maybe the starting point was there with the internal business, but the concerning thing is the appearance of it growing.
