similar thing happened to me, or I guess it was pretty much what happened to biboo. I THOUGHT I had direct deposit set up. I did not. I also wasn't checking my physical mail and my power just went out one night. Looked at the neighbors, their lights were on, realized it wasn't a black out. Had to charge my phone at a Mcdonalds kek
Got it sorted within a day, mild inconvenience.
