Sure, if your rigging is horrible or your model design looks atrocious, people won't check you out. However, beyond a certain level where the model and movement look fine, it doesn't matter as much. That's why corpos (Holo, Niji, VSpo JP) still get lots of viewers even though their riggings are hardly top tier
I hear now and then about some fresh indies spending $8K-$10K on their models and riggings and I can only thought that was a waste of money - it's like thinking somehow a great cover will make a great book
