>>104499968Wanted to wait until I got home to respond to these. If you've looked in any corpo boy's chat you'd see that every single one of them has at least one dedicated gachikoi that would drop red supas almost every single stream. However, you also have to keep in mind that there are numerous female vtubers that don't collab with males while the only corpo examples that don't collab with women have only recently popped up, and there's very few of them. So yeah, there's not going to be many female fans giving you incentive for that because it hasn't existed before. The fans who don't want any collabs have probably left the vtuber fandom already because they've accepted that it's just the way men are. Meanwhile only male fans get the privilege of having no male collabs because there's SO many agencies of all girls, and then most of the girls in those agencies have little to no male collabs. It's a bit tougher on our side because the only options we've had for EN male vtubers all collab with women, so we haven't had much to choose from, therefore not much money and interest can be given. And we're still taking baby steps to even get the sentiment of "no female collabs is actually possible" to be more widespread. So you have to keep in mind that difference between male and female vtubers. It's entirely possible to get a steady flow of income while not collabing with women. Zanny and Luci were able to buy an apartment and furniture, and Zanny's count is barely 1 (granted there are other factors like his insane charisma, humor, and stream count and not just his collab choices, but you get my point).
>>104501095From my observations over the years, male vtubers don’t gain a significant amount of support from networking with women. You might gain some friends, but since we're talking about money and support that contributes to that (views, fans, people who buy merch, etc), you're not getting much. Female vtubers generally have fans that are mostly into female vtubers or something involving her, even if they're not a unicorn. So let's say you collab with a girl and she says to her fans "I had fun with this guy, go support him!" and she has 100 viewers watching. Out of those 100, maybe you'll get 7-10 new followers, generously, or people who stay from the raid if you're lucky. Out of those 10, maybe 8 will stick around and actually check you out like clicking your youtube or twitter link instead of being a dead sub. Out of those 8, maybe 3 or 4 will show up to your stream, and out of those maybe 1 will actually chat in your stream. And that's the next day or a week from the collab if they remember you. Networking with women might get your name out there, but you're not likely to get much actual interest in you. Getting your name out there won't mean much if you're not gaining anything from it. I've seen this happen across all three corpos. Holo: one of the Stars supporters may raid one of the guys, but shortly after, the view count goes back to what it was before the redirect. Even if the girl says on debut "I will collab with Holostars", her fans will still be interested in females and won't watch a stream with a guy unless a girl is there. Same with Niji. I've heard many a time back in the height of Luxiem's popularity "go support [girl]!", there's a redirect, and the numbers go back to their same spot for the most part. In both cases, they'll get some extra likes on the stream and people who stay out of courtesy. Maybe a few subs, even a supa if they're lucky. But if you want to network and get fans who will be interested in you for YOU, it's more beneficial to collab with other guys. Because you'd be getting the attention of people who are actually into guys. If this is a money thing for you, you need to think about long-term steps, not short-term decisions that will give you a temporary boost. This is why I cannot stress enough that twitter likes don't translate to stream views.
In both cases of a vtuber shutting down parasocial fans, Kronni and Vox, they got over 50k likes on their twitter posts doing so. There was some supas and gifted subs in support afterwards, but did those people stay? Did those people buy merch afterwards? Did those people actually check out the membership content, give a like and a comment, watch the menshi VODs, or do anything after they spitefully bought it? Yeah, you'll have a handful that might, but after the drama passes, they'll forget why they even spent those 5 bucks. I went on a bit of a tangent, but my point is that networking and collabing with women will only get you short-term results, just as pandering to twitter will get you short term drama buffs through likes and maybe your name spreading outside the fandom, but it will likely not get you new dedicated fans or even casual fans. Obviously there's some nuances to all this, but I think you can get what I'm trying to get at.
