Everything feels so performative where everyone is just playing team sports, the second they think their chances are different they'll change their arguments and positions on a whim. Noone seems to actually have any real opinions or views, it's all just positions that are useful and positions that are not.
I know quoting 1984 is like a meme at this point, but this all feels like that scene where oceania changes allegiance and everyone who is outraged just goes along with it from a second to the next.
