Both Hololive and Korone could issue a joint apology and then give all of the money taken from the sponsored Hogwarts Legacy stream to Trans Lifeline, Mermaids or some other legit trans support org. That would be enough for me. Until then, I'm unsubscribed from everything Hololive, and they won't see another penny from me.
And yes, I did watch them. I have physical copies of every Mori album on CD and/or vinyl, as well as Kiara's Point Of View album (which is just bop after bop). The Death Sensei plushie stands guard atop my stereo system. This actually sucks for me.
But I'm not interested in any excuses they might have. They had two years to learn why Pikamee, Silvervale et al. all ate PR shit sandwiches for playing the TERF wizard game, and they knew enough at the time to tell the EN branch that they shouldn't play it. At best, they were lazy and irresponsible. At worst, they knew what the problem was and decided to spit in the face of every decent and half-aware person in the EN market anyway. Everyone knows that corpos are soulless cash vacuums, but I'm pretty sure that giving the money away and apologizing would be enough contrition to drop the boycott.
To everyone who says "apologizing in public never works" - yes it fucking does. Rosemi took the criticism for the McDonald's hashbrown pic (which was very mild, I was there, I fucking remember) like a champ and removed the post. That was the end of it. Everyone knew that she didn't mean any harm by it. And it was a shame because it was a cute as pluck picture, but that boycott is in place for a good reason.
