>>104498992“Yaasify” (sometimes spelled yaasify or yaasification) is an internet slang term and meme that comes from queer and drag culture, where “yaaas” is an enthusiastic cheer of approval (like “yaaas queen!”). To yaasify something means to glam it up, beautify it, or exaggerate it in a way that’s bold, camp, and over-the-top.
The word really took off in late 2021 after a Twitter bot account called @yaasifybot started posting side-by-side comparisons of photos — usually celebrities or historical figures — run through beauty filter apps like FaceApp. The “before” image looked normal, while the “after” was heavily retouched with smooth skin, thick makeup, and ultra-feminine features. The bot captioned them simply with “yaasify,” and it turned into a viral format.
Outside of the meme, people also use “yaasify” jokingly in text, like “time to yaasify my résumé” (meaning make it flashier or more appealing). It’s basically the campy cousin of “glow up.”
