VTubing as a whole doesn't really need to be strongly gatekept, in large part because individual VTubers have a great amount of freedom to act on their own. This moment is a rather silly one to have a realization; after all, it didn't really have much of an effect on broader groups of (1) Phase Connect, (2) Pippa's friends, or (3) dramatubers. In any case, you should ALWAYS have wanted to gatekeep VTubing; VTuber culture in the West is largely derived from anime culture, and it's clear that modern anime culture is the result of a failure to gatekeep.
