We do eat rice and lamb and flat bread and salad, but it's nothing to get excited about.
Hummus isn't really Turkish food, even if it's popular in some places. You probably ate pre-made hummus.

I don't think I've ever been to a very good Turkish restaurant before.
We (or the women of the household, men if it's grilling) usually make food every day at home.
