sakana is on record as being highly resistant to "virtue signalling." or at least his interpretation of it. he's called giving a vtuber lots of outfits a form of virtue signalling, so he's quite sensitive to how he's seen if even something like that registers as a signal. for him to drop Clara like this right now, it would send signals he isn't the type to acquiesce to. he isn't going to capitulate to a mob (however justified, which they are!) using roommate info only. sakana has always "won" by doing nothing, as the meme goes, and that's how this will play out, too.
that said, anybody claiming sakana agrees with her is a maximally distanced tourist, likely a tribalist.
personally i think it's much more likely clara just doesn't have her contract renewed. it lines up with the long break and her history of incendiary comments (none this bad, but she has quite the record now).
