I don't think nepohires are as bad in vtubing corporations as they are in other jobs because there's relatively little diffusion of accountability. If you aren't interesting, people will just watch someone else. If you yab, everyone knows it was you who yabed. If you don't stream, people can plainly see you aren't streaming. The worst you can say about a nepohire is that someone else could have been given the opportunity, but that's generally not the issue people have with nepohires in other jobs...
