>>104678426>>104678780I've been skimming the "following" tabs of people I find leaving harassing messages on the most recent Clara tweet or other places they congregate. I'd say about 70% of them follow zero vtubers at all, and the rest mostly follow just Kirsche, Smugalana, a few other "based"-adjacent vtubers, and every single Phase member. I'd wager most of Clara's losses are "dead" subs from the latter category who just mindlessly hit subscribe on every Phaser the moment each new generation was announced and didn't interact with her channel at all until going back to unsubscribe from her now over the controversy.
>balanced out by twitter activists pressing subscribeI don't think this is happening. I keep an eye on various communities and nothing she said made any waves in any left-leaning spaces. There like maybe 2 supportive comments on her last tweet. She hasn't actually faced any visible material consequences i.e. getting fired or (openly) suspended, so there's nothing to latch onto as a cause to rally around her for. She isn't an established left-wing personality, and she works for a company that left-leaning vtuber fans write off entirely already. No one's pity subscribing to her; the losses we see are the full extent of it.
Realistically, though, even if there was no controversy, this would be a terrible time to return. Students are going back to school and have less time to watch streams, youtube is rolling out age verification (which is proven to just drive people off a platform entirely rather than submit their ID to use a website), and society at large is pretty unstable right now. She should probably do some unannounced collabs with JP vtubers (hosted on their channels) in a month or two to test the waters, release a song cover or something after that, and make her actual return to streaming around the holidays when students are on break and have time to watch things again.
