>>1075513No it isn't. It's just a virus, not a fucking serial killer. It targets whatever it can infect, cause its goal is to keep reproducing. It's not after you, and as a matter of fact it doesn't want to kill you, because killing you means it will stop reproducing. Viruses are specifically adapted to infect certain organisms. That's why interspecies infections are so rare. But when they happen it's when they're the most deadly for 2 reasons:
1.Because the thing doesn't know it's not inside whatever he usually gets into, in this case a bat or a pangolin or whatever, so the things they usually do in those animals to reproduce may be too deadly for humans.
2.Because no human has any genetic information about them, so the immune systems of literally every human has to work from scratch to build antibodies, which is why everybody got sick at once and the medical services were completely jammed.
But that's not the case anymore. Our immune system is perfectly capable of dealing with the virus, UNLESS you have other preexisting conditions, in which case things can get complicated. That's why weak or old people are the more likely to die in the process.
Also, viruses mutate very fast to adapt to their new hosts, and thus the least deadly versions are the ones that thrive, because they do not kill you.
So now the situation is under control, the huge majority of people can naturally deal with the virus on their own, and the new strains are less deadly. It's time to move on and focus on protecting the people that are the more vulnerable only, just like we do with any other illness ever.
