I'm not gonna pretend Bae's intention in keeping Mumei in Hololive is some Gen unity altruism bullshit, it was a somewhat selfish decision because she just didn't want her best friend to leave, but at least she was the only person who attempted salvaging Promise
Coming back from that trip just to get slapped with another one from Fauna who was not nearly as close to her, she probaly just couldn't bother to try anymore, especially with the reason behind it being the lore drop
From that, Bae probably knew she couldn't keep Mumei for another year either, maybe she did blame Fauna for it but who knows
