cour is French (I think) for quarter and is the terminology the Japanese use to indicate the 10-14 episode block that happens each new anime season. I was using it back in 2005/2006.

At least pop groups are actual musicians first and foremost. A vtuber is a streamer that LARPs as a musician from time to time. And they don't even use their own face so you're going to end up with situations where long after they've retired the "character" you'll be seeing her credited as Calliope Mori, or worse, Mori Calliope. Cour now is used way more since anime "seasons" are often split.

Example, season 1 of anime x being 26 episodes but 13 are in spring season (cour 1) and 13 in autumn season (cour 2) skipping the summer.
In past anime season always ran continuously for the full lenght.
