AI isn't going to take over vtubing until we get general AI or at least start getting far closer to it. Neuro's success hasn't been replicated by anyone else, and that's probably for the same reason that most people get bored of attempting to get funny/interesting things out of chatbots. LLMs are too limited atm.
I don't think we're anywhere close to something resembling general AI, let alone getting to just the point where AIs can reason and actually remember things. Check back in a decade or two probably.

Neuro's success only highlights its biggest limit: it needs an obvious and prominent techie/manager. Imagine something like Hololive but now every girl has an individual Vedal holding the leash, and such a thing would drastically change the nature of "talent" interaction.
