Typically when people don't want collabs from the opposite gender it's because they think the streamer is their pretend lover or something. That seems more true for male fans. While it is true for a lot of female fans too, it's mostly because female vtubers always cause trouble everywhere they go. I'd rather guys avoid them so they won't be involved in any drama. Ever notice any vtuber related drama between opposite genders involve the female being victimized no matter what? Even if it's caused by her, you and your fanbase will still be demonized even if you apologize. I still see people to this day blaming either Vox, his fans, or both for what happened in 2022 despite the "hate" being from throwaway accounts likely made by phasefags. It's best to stay away from them in the first place.

If you do get people that like both genders, a good chunk of them will beg for collabs to try and "own" your "parasocial" fanbase and not stick around for you. And then an even smaller chunk of those beggars might genuinely want a mixed collab without any malicious intent. It's not worth the effort to find out which is which. It's better to network with other boys or focus on your own thing. At least those people are actually interested in men. The algorithm will pick you up and I've noticed certain vtubers will get pushed if they play certain games, especially ones that aren't played more often because someone will be looking for a person that plays that obscure game.

Why make a decision that will not only shrink your already small fanbase but will cause you to have less people send money, buy VPs, and buy merch? Collabs in general don't make much in superchats, so why shoot another hole in your foot? You also have to remember, this thread is the only /visible/ place where you can see unfiltered opinions and stances on collabs. There's discords, other sites, locked accounts and twitter groups, etc. And of course there's lurkers who may thread watch but never post. So for every complaint you see about a female collabs, there could be who knows how many others that agree.
In the end, you have to remember you are in a corpo now and the higher ups will treat this as a business, so you have to keep that in mind too when you make choices that can affect the business. Don't end up like Specialite where all the girls did whatever they wanted, didn't attract a unique audience, and didn't set themselves apart from the dozens of other corpos out there and thus didn't make enough money to keep the company afloat. The company invested in giving you the opportunity, so they expect a return on their investment. Don't turn it into a negative by going "I can do whatever I want with my decisions you parasocial fuck!!" and then costing yourself and the corpo money. Don't get caught in the toxic positive hugbox that is twitter; they have dozens of other vtubers to watch, you only have one job.
