ESL by definition means at least two languages, one of which is English.
Most of us are monolinguals who can speak english and that's about it. (Don't fool yourself that you can speak Japanese fluently. You wouldn't be in a thread about EN clippers otherwise.)
Those of us who are at least bilingual usually learn shit that more than a single, xenophobic country on a small island in the middle of the china sea speaks. You know, shit like Portuguese, Spanish, even fucking French.
Hard agree though. Clipping EN in EN if you're not fully confident with EN is questionable. To play the devil's advocate, though, how else will they improve without practice and feedback?
Clipping an EN vtuber in EN is likely an easy way for them to learn to clip in EN, which makes JP->EN cllipping even easier. Fuwamoco didn't become top-tier eroge translators overnight, after all.
